Snap out of IT and take control of the ship. We are the ones putting ourselves in a funk. Our moods are a result of the thoughts we put in our heads. We can get out of that funky mood and become joyful again.
A short story from my teenage years
When I was a teen, church teachings confused me vs. what I did in my everyday life. The feelings weighed heavily on my mind until they affected me. I was accident-prone. For example, I used to burn myself on the stove a lot and had other accidents.
My state of mind was all out of whack, and I felt stressed out. I spoke to my eldest sister about my inner conflicts. She gave me some excellent advice. I was young and did not know what to do. My angels wanted me to snap out of IT and take control of the ship.
My eldest sister’s advice was to choose between my inner conflicts. IOW, go with the church teachings, or go with what I felt in my heart. I had to make a choice and choose what was best for me. So, I chose to snap out of IT and take control of the ship.
How did I snap out of IT and take control of the ship?
I lived my life the way I wanted to live it, nothing illegal, though. My primary focus was getting myself out of the funk I was in at the moment. I swore to myself that I would NOT get back to that space in my life. Yes, I had to snap out of IT and take control of the ship. Church teachings can have you questioning yourself and burden your mind all at once. I call it “Outside Influences.”
According to an article in the “National Institute of Health,” nature can be an excellent “Outside Influence” in guiding our thoughts and moods. When we are in nature, nothing else matters except our surroundings.
With the multiplicity of the ‘great outdoors’ including forests, seaside, countryside, parks, local green areas and even gardens, another conversation considers the role of environment in benefiting human health. Green or natural spaces have been considered to be advantageous for health for many years. ~National Institute of Health
Rabbi Ninesun Amaru Bey has always encouraged TLC, 13 Love Community™ Private members to get back to nature. Nature helps us battle those “Outside Influences,” making us snap out of IT and take control of the ship.

In current days when I feel overwhelmed, I tell myself that I will not get back to that state of mind ever again from my teenage years. I used my teenage experience to guide me throughout my life.
Giving selves pep talks
Each time I feel a certain way, I say to myself, “Never again will I revisit that state of confusion from my teenage years.” That tool has been my guide throughout my life, making me snap out of IT and take control of the ship.
What stress? I’m like, “Naw, dis ain’t happening,” and I bust out a laugh. It’s something like, “Shoot, I’m in charge here. I ain’t stressed. Nope! Dat ain’t gone happen.” That’s the image I get from my teenage years each time I feel overwhelmed.
So, yes, we can get out of that funk and snap out of IT and take control of the ship. I don’t let those negative thoughts control me. Each time I get those feelings of dread, I turn the situation around and recognize IT for what IT is.
How outside behavior affect your moods
Have you ever been in a situation when you were in a good mood, and someone walked inside the room and spoiled your mood? I have been in such a situation; I will tell you what happened to me while working in Rome.
One day while I was at my desk joking with others in the office, someone walked inside the room in a funky mood. The individual’s attitude darkened all our demeanor. Everyone stopped laughing, and joy turned to sadness.
We looked at each other, saying, “WTF just happened?” The entire focus was on that one person who walked in the room with a not-so-positive attitude. In a situation like this, we need to snap out of IT and take control of the ship. Don’t let someone else’s funky mood spoil your thoughts.
Research from the Harvard Business Review shows how others behavior can affect yours:
There’s that one person on your team — the bad apple who has nothing positive to say, riles up other team members, and makes work life miserable. If you can’t fire him, how do you respond to his behavior? What feedback do you give? How do you mitigate the damage he inflicts? ~Harvard Business Review
Here’s what Rabbi Ninesun Amaru Bey had to say about negative thinking:
When you thinking negative thoughts, Ye attract negative energies which is Unseen demons or low vibrations. These entities start leading you down a slippery slope of Satanic behavior. Let this marinate. ~Da13thSun
Conclusion
We should never forget our body is a ship. We are the ones steering every aspect of that ship, our body. As a daily practice, we can learn to block negative influences by seeing them for what they are. If someone walks in the room with any drama, say, “Oh no! Not today. You will NOT spoil my mood. Learn to check yourself.”
I guarantee you those words will have whoever stands at attention in absolute shock. That’s one way to shut someone down who is harmful and disruptive. Another simple way is to interrupt the person and say, “What’s up with you? Don’t you ever have anything positive to say?” Oh, yes; such a response will cause the person to pause.
So, we should always learn to snap out of IT and take control of the ship, get out of the funk, and refuse to let others or “Outside Influences” affect the way we think. Learn how to block out the noises and focus on something positive.
